Comfortable Root Canal Therapy in Framingham
When the nerve inside a tooth is inflamed or infected, a root canal removes the damaged tissue, cleans the canals, and seals the tooth — relieving pain while preserving your natural tooth.
At Nobscot Dental Care, most root canals are completed in our office, so you are not sent out and left waiting in pain. Same-day treatment is available in many cases.
Proudly serving Framingham, Natick, Sudbury, Wayland, Ashland, Southborough & surrounding areas.

Digital imaging helps him diagnose the source of pain quickly. Sedation options are available if you feel anxious. Many patients keep a tooth that might otherwise have been extracted.
Learn More About Dr. MadaniSigns You May Need a Root Canal
An infected tooth will not heal on its own. Call if you notice any of these warning signs.
Lingering Toothache
Throbbing pain that wakes you up, or pain that lingers after hot or cold, often means the pulp is inflamed.
Pain When You Bite
Pressure sensitivity or a tooth that feels “high” can point to a cracked tooth or an infected nerve.
Swelling or a Pimple
A bump on the gums, facial swelling, or a bad taste can mean an abscess that needs prompt treatment.
Dark or Cracked Tooth
A tooth that darkened after trauma, or a crack that reaches the nerve, frequently needs root canal therapy.

Treated Here, Not Sent Away
Many root canals are completed in our Framingham office, with digital imaging on site so diagnosis and treatment can happen without a long specialist wait.
Save the Tooth When Possible
A timely root canal can spare you an extraction and a later implant. If the tooth cannot be saved, Dr. Madani will explain every option clearly — no pressure.
What Happens During a Root Canal
Modern root canal treatment has come a long way from outdated myths. Here is the typical visit.
Many root canals are finished in a single visit. Complex or very infected teeth may need a second appointment.
Root Canal Myths vs. Reality
Reality: The infection is what hurts. Treatment is done with effective anesthesia. Patients often describe the visit as far more comfortable than they expected — including Saturday appointments completed in under an hour.
Reality: Saving a natural tooth keeps your bite and jawbone more stable. Extraction can lead to shifting teeth and a later implant or bridge. When the tooth can be saved, a root canal is usually the conservative first choice.
Nervous? Tell us. Sedation options and a calm, unhurried visit are part of how we work.
Root Canal or Extraction?
Root canal is often recommended when
- The tooth can still be restored with a filling or crown
- You want to keep your natural tooth
- Pain or abscess started from deep decay, a crack, or an old injury
- You prefer one office that can treat and later protect the tooth
Extraction may be discussed when
- The tooth is fractured below the gum or cannot be sealed
- Severe bone loss or gum disease has left too little support
- A previous root canal has failed and retreatment is not predictable
- You would rather replace the tooth with an implant
Dr. Madani will show you the images, explain both paths, and help you choose. If an implant later makes more sense, that care is also available here.
